Read the testimony from a 15 year old girl from Poland who joined last year’s Summer Team:

This Summer Team has given me new ideas and ways to help share Christ on the streets with the youth from my city. I learned a lot about God, especially on just taking the leap of faith and watching God do the impossible. I loved the accountability, PT (Personal Time with God), and how we all were like family. I loved seeing God move through many people, and just being around people who love God as much as I do.

What about Oslo? What about making a real impact

What about Oslo? What about making a real impact in Oslo? How hard can it be to get everyone in one city to think and speak about Jesus? Before we could say yes and amen, we were already into planning a two week long Jesus2Oslo event! And this is what we did:

First, we had a weekend of training, preparing and praying. Then we hit the streets with a Joy parade through town! We used billboards and slogans with ¨Smile, Jesus loves you¨, and similar. We marched through town singing and shouting for Jesus. We did several street meetings, and in one of them we made big cages using some old metal army-beds, put people in them, and preached about how Jesus can set you free! Another thing we did, was to roll a trash can up the main street with some young evangelists in it, preaching about how Jesus can cleanse you from all the trash in your life! We handed out clothes for free, to poor people in the town, and at the end of the week we did evangelistic concerts at the Jesus house downtown. With live-DJ and teams from Jesus Revolution performing.

¨I don’t think I have such a personal relationship to Jesus as you are speaking about, but I think I did once. How can I also have a personal relationship to Jesus¨? - One of the girls coming to the evangelistic concert

¨After your preaching, I understood that I need to commit myself really to Jesus. Not just halfway, but fully¨. - One of the guys coming to the concert

¨Don’t speak about Jesus, don’t speak about Jesus¨… - a guy rattling with some spiritual item, nervously trying to stop us from preaching the gospel at the main square in the city.

It didn’t take me long to thank God for raisingâ¦

It didn’t take me long to thank God for raising up Manna Ministry in a time like this in India. Ernest and Rachel Komanapalli (the founders) and their team do not only believe in the fullness of the Gospel, but they live it. Indeed, the church is not only shining in the darkness of India, but it impacts the society, gives a voice to the voiceless, and a future to the hopeless. Through churches, orphanages, educational institutes, hospitals etc, they are clearly manifesting the arm of God, that is stretching out with love to a poor and needy nation.

This is only by God’s grace, the obedience and the sacrifices of many that they can make such an impact into people’s lives. I am sure that there will be many people in Heaven that will thank them for having put their lives on the altar and were willing to be a living sacrifice into the hands of the Living God.

It was a rich lesson for me to see their commitment to the Gospel, their love for God and servant heart.
I leave you with a challenge that is for all of us:
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” (Isa 1:17)

I haven’t seen her for two weeks now. Sittâ¦

I haven’t seen her for two weeks now. Sitting on the edge of my bed in Zaheerabad, East-India, I am looking at a picture of my daughter and getting a lump my throat. Suddenly it dawns upon me…

Rewind a couple of days. We are participating in a campaign of “Evidence of Faith” (Troens Bevis), and for the first time in my life, I am seeing crowds of tens of thousands coming to hear the message of the Gospel. Upon getting up on stage and seeing the crowd, a similar kind of emotion as the one in the hotel room hits me, tears swelling up. I can now relate to how Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the multitudes. In the West, we feel the need to emphasize that God sees the individuals. But he also saw the multitudes, and the multitudes followed him.

To try and grasp the love of God for the 1.3 billion people living in India has been a struggle, but there in the hotel room, looking at the picture of my 17 month old daughter, I got the revelation I needed, the connection between head and heart. I realized that when I got married, my love for my wife was so intense (and still is). But when our first child was born, my love was not divided between the two of them; it was multiplied. The same intensity and quality of love appeared in my heart for a new being. In three months, another little baby will make its appearance in our family. Once again, my love shall be multiplied, and not divided.

Every time a new Indian comes into the world, God’s love is multiplied. The same intensity of love appears in his heart for this new wonderful being. His love is multiplied in 1.3 billion Indians. Like a father sitting in his hotel room and missing his wife and daughter after two weeks apart, He is sitting in heaven and missing his sons and daughters that have yet to meet him. Pray for India.

The first two weeks in India we joined Troens Bev

The first two weeks in India we joined Troens Bevis at their larger campaigns, and also contributed at a nationwide pastor’s conference in Hyderabad. The very last week we were there, we could finally get started with what had been the main purpose for our journey: the Jesus Revolution youth conference!

The three day long youth conference was a great success from start to finish! Our first meeting with the youth totally blew our minds, as we entered a room filled with mainly teenagers, jumping up and down, praising God to rhythmic Indian worship. Both our hearts and bodies (even stiff Norwegian bodies) were moved by this wonderful worship. During the daytime we had teachings and workshops with the youth, teaching the word of God, inspiring them to run with the gospel, and giving them different practical tools to use in their evangelizing. In the evenings we had large evangelistic concerts filled with hip-hop music, dancing, rapping, singing, and drama. Different people from our team gave their testimonies in between some of the songs, and we could boldly proclaim the gospel in the end. The response was great! After two evenings of gospel preaching, somewhere around 100 people responded to the call of salvation, and every night numerous people got miraculously healed from sicknesses and pains. Several people gave witness that they had bad eyesight before, but after prayer, they could now see perfectly well. Someone that was not able to hear very well, were filled with joy as we prayed for them and they could hear well. Many people also with pain in their bodies gave witness that the pain had left them after prayer. We also had almost 100 people seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit during one of our teaching sessions! God was so strongly present with His Spirit among these hungry young people!

One of the main youth leaders came to us after the conference: “Hey, I knew it would be good, but not that it would be THAT good!” The Bishop himself, Ernest Komanapalli, came to us again and again, telling us how blessed they were having us there. We really felt that we could be a part of making a difference. Already now, we have gotten feedback from several people that were there, that they want to start Jesus Revolution in India. Exciting times are ahead. India here we come!

Watch the video some of the Indian youth made from the conference:

We are with a church in Hy

Hyderabad, 23.03.2012

We are with a church in Hyderabad, waiting for a group of people with leprosy coming to receive their food rations. Some 30 men and women of various ages arrive. They sit down together on the ground. Then they start singing worship songs to God! As I am watching them clapping hands and singing with such thankfulness it strikes me: These men and women have been in life situations many people would define as hopeless. I see several pairs of hands without fingers. Probably, they have felt despised by people and worthless. Today, it is visible from far that they have received hope! By meeting the local church they have experienced the hope of the Gospel! Now they have been baptized to the name of Jesus and are under medical treatment. That’s what I call NEW LIFE!

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. – Ephesians 1:18.19a

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13

With great excitement the Jesus Revolution tea

With great excitement the Jesus Revolution team heads towards India. This country with such a different culture, how will we experience it? To my great surprise(!) it is exactly as we have seen it on TV: The wild traffic where the horn is more important than the brakes, the yellow rickshaws always showing up asking if you need a lift, open trucks loaded with people, overloaded buses where the two last passengers literally are hanging outside the bus. A fascinating chaos! Cows are walking alongside smiling Indians clothed in saris and other traditional clothing.

My first impression is that it’s fun to meet such a different reality. But meeting with the real India is far from just fun. With great challenges such as high population density, a strong class and cast mentality, corruption, and environmental pollution, this country is far from paradise. Still, when I leave after a two weeks’ stay, I feel encouraged and filled with hope for the nation of India!

The reason? The Church of God! In Colossians 1:27 we read: ..Christ in us, the hope of glory. The fact that Christ lives in us, the fact that He is present on earth through His Church makes it possible for people to experience God’s hope and God’s glory. In spite of dark circumstances we saw how the Church in India did not let themselves be discouraged but believed God and trusted Him for bringing His hope to people!

In the days to come we will share a few stories so stay tuned!

We have interviewed one of the first year missio

We have interviewed one of the first year missionaries in Jesus Revolution. Timothy from Virginia, USA, is soon going on tour with one of the Jesus Revolution teams!

Are you looking forward to tour, Timothy?
Yes! I am very excited about tour. After all the things that have happened, being trained at the base for half a year, it will be nice to see some fruits of our labor. I also think that the time being on tour is the time when you grow the most, a time when you get to use what you have been trained for. It’s a high pressure environment, which (hopefully) equals a high growth environment. In short I believe it will be, beyond a doubt, the highlight of the year.

What are your expectations and what do you want to see?
I expect to see people living comfortable lives becoming more passionate, and people that are not saved accepting Christ as their savior. In addition to this I want to see personal growth; to exceed my expectation of my own ability.

Looking back, what has been the best part of your year in Jesus Revolution so far?
Having my brain filled with more knowledge of God and more knowledge of human relationships. It has emboldened me; to share the Word but also to act upon it. This year has expected things from me that I have not expected from myself, which has made me see a bit more of my true potential.

How have you been challenged?
I have been challenged by talking to strangers, and not being afraid of feeling stupid about myself. I have also been challenged when it comes to preaching the gospel. Throughout this time, personal challenges have taught me to trust in God in a new way.

Can you see that you have grown in any area?
I have more knowledge, which enables me to answer more questions. Now I can believe, and also back it up. I have grown in confidence; I am able to take challenges and not shy away from them. But the most important thing is that I have grown in my passion for God. He is not just a part of my life, He is my entire life. I can’t help but to talk about Him!

How would you describe your experience in missions so far, if you were to sum it up in one word?
Trust.

Follow the teams on the web, on facebook and on twitter as they go out on tour. Let’s keep them in our prayers!

“Paul, and you?”
“Jesus”
“Cool name!”

We are in Spain meeting with the very first Jesus Revolution group that has started here one and a half years after the launch in August 2010. A young woman called Adriana, after joining a Summer Team, went back to her church and decided to start giving Jesus to her city with her friends. Now, there are around 20 young people in this group, and they incarnate everything that we had originally envisioned for Jesus Revolution groups: a strong evangelistic passion, creativity, discipleship, pioneer spirit and lots of joy!

Jesus and his friends love using their gifts on the streets. Together they have developed several dances and a drama that they use in their evangelistic efforts. Pray for them as they train, prepare, and find ways to reach out to the city of Madrid.

What is the biggest mission field in the world today? The simple answer is India. According to Operation Mobilization, there are currently 1,2 Billion people living in India, of which 850 million are under 35 – 70%, and 26 million are evangelicals – 2,2%. In the vision to reach the youth of the world, our eyes have turned towards India and our hearts moved by the incredible need. Jesus Revolution received in September this year the visit of Ernest Komanapalli, a leader for more than 1200 churches in India. Mr Komanapalli has opened the door for Jesus Revolution to come and train young Indians to share the gospel in an effective way.

There are today 350 million middle class Indians that have little meaningful contact with Christianity. These young Indians look up to western culture, listen to the same music and wear the same clothes. In other words, the gospel must be communicated to them in a contemporary way. This will be the mission of Jesus Revolution in India. To train locals and to equip them with resources through our Jesus Revolution groups concept, with which they can bring the gospel of Christ to their generation.

In collaboration with Mr Komanapali, Jesus Revolution is organising a youth conference in February 2012. Between 2000 and 3000 youth are expected. We know that this will have a direct consequence on the lives of thousands of unsaved Indians. Our goal is to send a team of 10 of our best leaders that can preach, train and equip the locals to reach out with the gospel in different creative ways.

This project is an extra step of faith that is not a part of our yearly budget. Would you prayerfully consider supporting us on this trip? We are in need of around 13 000 € (100 000 Kr) before February for the total costs of the project.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be a direct part of spreading the gospel in India. We will keep you updated as the conference goes on and let you hear the testimonies in the time after our visit.

“Young people – the statistics present a staggering need for this population of 400 million
under 15 years old. Only 15% reach high school, and functional literacy is around 30%.
Around 40% live below the poverty line. Many live in a moral and spiritual vacuum. Most
churches lack the resources and know-how to minister to them. YFC, OM, Blessing Youth
Ministry, CEF, SU, CCCI and others reach out to some.”

“The “New India” is a youthful, ambitious, cosmopolitan and modern entity, where
differences of religion, caste and gender mean less and less. It is increasingly urban and techsavvy. The India of call centres, cricket, Bollywood, bhangra and globally connected Indian culture is exposed to and open to new ideas and ways of living, including Christianity. The most significant influence in this context is materialism – as capable of entrapping Hindus as any other group. This younger generation – 70% of India is under age 35, and 31% under age 15 – will shape India’s future. As such, they are a hugely strategic group to reach for Jesus; completely new and different missiological strategies must be undertaken to communicate and model the gospel to them. Indian churches and missions are now focusing on this issue; initial success thus far is very modest.”
