Are you looking forward to tour, Timothy?
Yes! I am very excited about tour. After all the things that have happened, being trained at the base for half a year, it will be nice to see some fruits of our labor. I also think that the time being on tour is the time when you grow the most, a time when you get to use what you have been trained for. It’s a high pressure environment, which (hopefully) equals a high growth environment. In short I believe it will be, beyond a doubt, the highlight of the year.

 What are your expectations and what do you want to see?
I expect to see people living comfortable lives becoming more passionate, and people that are not saved accepting Christ as their savior. In addition to this I want to see personal growth; to exceed my expectation of my own ability.

 Looking back, what has been the best part of your year in Jesus Revolution so far?
Having my brain filled with more knowledge of God and more knowledge of human relationships. It has emboldened me; to share the Word but also to act upon it. This year has expected things from me that I have not expected from myself, which has made me see a bit more of my true potential. 

 How have you been challenged?
I have been challenged by talking to strangers, and not being afraid of feeling stupid about myself. I have also been challenged when it comes to preaching the gospel. Throughout this time, personal challenges have taught me to trust in God in a new way. 

 Can you see that you have grown in any area?
I have more knowledge, which enables me to answer more questions. Now I can believe, and also back it up. I have grown in confidence; I am able to take challenges and not shy away from them. But the most important thing is that I have grown in my passion for God. He is not just a part of my life, He is my entire life. I can’t help but to talk about Him!

 How would you describe your experience in missions so far, if you were to sum it up in one word?
Trust.

We are in Spain meeting with the very first Jesus Revolution group that has started here one and a half years after the launch in August 2010. A young woman called Adriana, after joining a Summer Team, went back to her church and decided to start giving Jesus to her city with her friends. Now, there are around 20 young people in this group, and they incarnate everything that we had originally envisioned for Jesus Revolution groups: a strong evangelistic passion, creativity, discipleship, pioneer spirit and lots of joy!

Jesus and his friends love using their gifts on the streets. Together they have developed several dances and a drama that they use in their evangelistic efforts. Pray for them as they train, prepare, and find ways to reach out to the city of Madrid.

Indian Youth

There are today 350 million middle class Indians that have little meaningful contact with Christianity. These young Indians look up to western culture, listen to the same music and wear the same clothes. In other words, the gospel must be communicated to them in a contemporary way. This will be the mission of Jesus Revolution in India. To train locals and to equip them with resources through our Jesus Revolution groups concept, with which they can bring the gospel of Christ to their generation.

In collaboration with Mr Komanapali, Jesus Revolution is organising a youth conference in February 2012. Between 2000 and 3000 youth are expected. We know that this will have a direct consequence on the lives of thousands of unsaved Indians. Our goal is to send a team of 10 of our best leaders that can preach, train and equip the locals to reach out with the gospel in different creative ways.

This project is an extra step of faith that is not a part of our yearly budget. Would you prayerfully consider supporting us on this trip? We are in need of around 13 000 € (100 000 Kr) before February for the total costs of the project.

“Young people – the statistics present a staggering need for this population of 400 million
under 15 years old. Only 15% reach high school, and functional literacy is around 30%.
Around 40% live below the poverty line. Many live in a moral and spiritual vacuum. Most
churches lack the resources and know-how to minister to them. YFC, OM, Blessing Youth
Ministry, CEF, SU, CCCI and others reach out to some.”

“The “New India” is a youthful, ambitious, cosmopolitan and modern entity, where
differences of religion, caste and gender mean less and less. It is increasingly urban and techsavvy. The India of call centres, cricket, Bollywood, bhangra and globally connected Indian culture is exposed to and open to new ideas and ways of living, including Christianity. The most significant influence in this context is materialism – as capable of entrapping Hindus as any other group. This younger generation – 70% of India is under age 35, and 31% under age 15 – will shape India’s future. As such, they are a hugely strategic group to reach for Jesus; completely new and different missiological strategies must be undertaken to communicate and model the gospel to them. Indian churches and missions are now focusing on this issue; initial success thus far is very modest.”

We were both greeted by enthusiastic compliance!  They were eager to sign our board, and surprisingly, the little girl could not wait to do the same; she even jumped up and down.  After explaining why we were out this night and why we were doing such a thing, the question arose… “So what do you think about God?“

The vocal one chuckled and replied, “We don’t believe in that sort of thing, but she does.”  She pointed down at the little girl whose cheerful eyes peered back at us.  Apparently, her friends invited her to church one day and now she regularly attends and sings in their choir.  We tried to encourage her and give some literature to better understand who her Jesus is.  She grasped the book and hugged it tightly.

I left the group thinking that among two adults, it was the kid who had it all right.  With a literal “child-like” faith, she came to know her Father.  It dawned on me that this is why we at Jesus Revolution target the young ones, the youth of the nations.  I only hope that this girl we met can be the one who makes a change in her family… one who grows up knowing the truth despite those around her who are still unaware. 

As Italy is a nation with strong Catholic influence the feast of All Saints was celebrated last week, with two national holidays. During these days, 5-600 Christians were gathered for a conference in Corato in the Province of Bari. The name of the conference “Regno Unito” – A United Kingdom – expresses the reason for this gathering of young and older people from different churches in the Bari Province and from other cities in Italy. As citizens of God’s Kingdom we belong to each other and are one unit despite differences in style and expression. During the conference the participants were encouraged to get rid of everything that has to do with competition and pride and stand together as brothers and sisters in our common mission: Reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

This is also what it is all about when the Jesus Revolution Summer Team will take place in the same area next summer. Together we will give Jesus to the world! Youth from many different nations and from different parts of Italy will spend two weeks of their summer vacation in Bari July 24th to August 7th 2012. Differently from the numerous tourists, these youth come for more than sun, beach, and Italian ice cream, gelato. They come to stand together with their brothers and sisters in the local church Chiesa Bethel in their vision: “Ispirare Bari all’Evangelo” – Inspire Bari with the Gospel.

Taste and see that the Lord is good!
We will travel to many different nations in Europe with the goal to see people being impacted by the gospel, youth groups trained and equipped to stand up for Jesus in their surroundings and cities. We will give it all to see this generation stirred up to live flat out for Jesus in the midst of a perverted world. We are longing to see young people realize that God loves them, and that He can use them for His glory. Every year, we have seen young people getting a taste of God, getting their thirst for Him awakened, and that is what we are longing to see this year as well. We are not only longing for young people to get a taste of God, to see that He is good, but also to release them to tell others about Him.

Where it is dry, things easily catches fire! It is such a wonderful blessing to be a part of getting young people to realize that the Jesus life is not only for special people, but for everyone who has a willing heart to say: “Jesus, Here am I, send me…”

From February on, we will be high and low, all over the European continent to work with young people, to see them catch fire for Jesus, and start to spread the gospel to their cities and regions. We will teach, train and equip the young heroes for an evangelistic lifestyle. We will bring them out for street evangelism, have lots of fun together, pray together and much more. Our goal is that strong evangelistic JR-Groups will come up all across this continent and far beyond, that will stand up and proclaim the gospel, much more, better and more powerful than we have ever been able to do before!

- One out of many skaters told one of our JR-missionaries (He had long hair and beard) with excitement, just before many of them got instantly healed from skating injuries. Some of them also received Jesus.

This continent desperately needs a total Jesus Revolution, around us, but also inside us. We need young people to diligently seek God with a hunger like Elisha had: I want ¨a double portion¨ of what has been before!

I would like to challenge you that have a heart to see a change especially in Europe. Go yourself, or support someone else who is going! Start to pray, because everything we do is based on prayer. Then you can help out to start a Jesus Revolution Group in your church. It is also possible to stand with us financially and make it possible for us to work full time to give the gospel to the youth of the world!

As the missionaries at the base of Oslo have been divided into four different teams, it is positive to see how each is developing its own special touch and how the individual visions of the teams are beginning to take form and become clearer. This is a fall where leaders are being made and this does not only go for the people with spoken titles. We can all feel how our character is being shaped and maturing. What an honor to be a part of this, a part of what God is doing not only in the city of Oslo, but also how He is preparing the nations to come to Him. This season is a time of preparation before the teams go out on tour to break new ground on a personal level and also in the physical.

During the time in Oslo the teams have done what we call “adaptive outreaches”, where they use creative means to stretch out to all that are unreached. That is, all who have not had a revelation about the Gospel, to all who are not yet saved.

We have had an outreach at Karl Johan, the main street of Oslo, where Katrin, one of the leaders, preached the gospel. By wearing a black plastic bag, she illustrated what it is like to have sin in your life and how Jesus once and for all paid for our sin so that we could be free. There in the street she challenged people to give their lives to Jesus. One girl who seemed to be greatly touched raised her hand. She said that she wanted to take a stand for Jesus and to do specific things to get her life in order.

What a blessing to be a co-worker with Christ and His children!

A couple a months ago we happened to visit some great brothers and sisters in Holland with a team from Jesus Revolution. We had a great time there preaching the gospel, and joining some Jesus Heroes there in Dordrecht.

What I didn’t expect to see anyhow, was what they showed us from the rooftop of an old cathedral that had been turned into a secular concert hall. We looked out across the city, and they pointed at one church-building after the other, telling how the church had been empty for many years, until someone took over and turned the old building into a shopping mall. ¨That one over there used to be a Presbyterian church¨, ¨that one over there used to be a reformed church¨, now they are both shopping malls¨.

I was deeply moved seeing secularism literally taking over for Christianity in front of my very own eyes. It felt as if God showed me His very own heart, longing for His people to open their eyes and stand up and fight, for the gospel with one mind, and one accord!

This is NOT a time to be on the defense! This is NOT a time to complaint about everything and to criticize each other! This is NOT a time to compromise our faith or believes in order to please everyone.

This is a time to seek the Lord on our knees for our dear nations. This is a time to proclaim the gospel as never before! This is a time to LIVE out the Jesus life, walking according to the Word of God, not the tabloid demands! This is a time to show LOVE, not hate, this is a time to forgive, not take revenge! It is time for a Jesus Revolution! We are going to take back this continent!

Let`s bring the church out from the comfortable ¨Sunday-christianity¨, into the world as we know it if that world is a shopping mall or an office landscape. People need a demonstration of Christianity, and you are that tool that God is calling to stand up for Christ where you are!
