Guidelines & Rules

The rules and regulations adopted by Impact are designed to ensure the safety and well-being of each participant and are based on the following principles:

  • Everyone should know which guidelines to follow in different matters.
  • We believe in a new standard for a new generation that will bring glory to God through their lives.
  • You are an ambassador, first and foremost for Jesus Christ and thereafter for Jesus Revolution.
  • Effective ministry can only take place if we are operating in unity for the same goal.
  • Cultural sensitivity is vital because we do not want to offend those we wish to lead to the Lord.
  • We expect all participants to submit to the mission leaders, team leaders and other leaders appointed by Jesus Revolution, respecting the instructions given, with a positive attitude.
  • The rules and regulations apply for all participants and leaders as long as nothing else is stated.

Schedule

  • Your Team Leader must know where you are at all times.
  • We expect all participants to follow the daily schedule and to participate in the different activities during the day, as long as no other instructions are given.
  • Be on time. One person’s delay will influence the whole group.

Group regulations

  • Your Team Leader must know where you are at all times.
  • Never be outside the lodging complex alone.
  • When outside the lodging complex all groups must consist of at least 3 people. Groups must stay together at all times regardless of time, day or night.

Lifestyle and conduct

  • It is strictly prohibited to use alcohol, tobacco products or any kind of illegal drugs during the trip.
  • We only allow Christian music and literature on this mission.
  • Each participant must manage his/her own economy well.
  • It is not allowed to borrow money from other participants.

Attitude

  • Commit to maintaining a positive attitude regardless of circumstances.
  • You may be asked to do practical work. Make yourself available and willing, doing everything with joy.

Health

  • Report any illnesses to your Team Leader.
  • If you are dependent upon strong medicines, you must inform the Mission Leaders and bring with you documentation of the medical treatment you need.
  • Health problems that can create complications during the Impact must be noted in advance.
  • It is important to remember to eat at every meal served and have responsible eating habits.
  • Make sure to drink enough water.
  • If you have questions about specific dietary needs please notify us ahead of time.

Appearance and hygiene

  • Make sure to practice good personal hygiene as you will be working closely with other people.
  • Extreme dress up styles or hairstyles should be avoided.
  • No visible body, lip or nose piercings allowed during the Impact (earrings for girls are accepted).

Dress code

  • All clothes should be clean and tidy.
  • All shirts must cover your stomach completely, even when raising your arms.
  • All shirts must have a modest neck line (nolow necked tops, blouses etc.)
  • T-shirts must cover the shoulders.
  • Skirts (slit or length) and shorts must reach to the knees.
  • Trousers and shorts must cover your underwear completely.
  • Modest swim wear. You must wear a cover-up to and from the pool/beach area.
  • No clothing that advertises alcohol, tobacco products, secular bands,etc.allowed.
  • Proper foot wear is required during ministry, training, gatherings and sports.

Cell phones

  • The use of cell phones is only permitted during free time when there is nothing specific on the program.
  • Cell phones must be turned offduring PT, teaching, team gatherings, meals, trainings,and outreaches.
  • Excessive use of personal phones during the trip may result in the phone being confiscated.

Room Manners

  • Boys are not allowed to be in the girls’ department, and girls are not allowed to be in the boys’ department.
  • Rooms must be clean and orderly.

Relationships

  • We emphasise that the environment should be kept pure so that we can socialize with each other with respect as brothers and sisters.
  • Any kind of flirting or challenging behaviour will not be accepted.
  • You are not allowed to initiate or be involved in any kind of romantic relationship with a person from the trip whether they are from our group or outside our group.
  • If you are already in an established relationship and want to be a part of a Impact, please make a note in the application form. Please also take into consideration others around you (no extensive hugs, kisses,etc.).

Ministry Guidelines

  • All team members must remain in their ministry groups during outreach.
  • During outreach, be aware of the departure time and follow the instructions from your Team Leader.
  • If you have challenges or things you need to talk about, go to your Team Leader. We do not want the participants to “counsel” each other.
  • Each participant is responsible for equipment and property. Damages may lead to a personal economic responsibility for the ones who caused it.

We expect full co-operation from participants and leaders in any disciplinary decisions made. Jesus Revolution reserves the right to send home (at their own expense) any team member that shows blatant disregard for the stated and agreed upon rules and regulations.
