Missions in Sofia, Bulgaria
Summer Mission Bulgaria is a city-wide outreach for young adults 18+. We want to bring the message of Jesus to the youth of Bulgaria. You’ll be trained in how to share the gospel, how to share your story, and how to minister to people on the streets. Then you’re sent out in teams across Sofia, always in partnership with local churches.
Why Sofia?
Bulgaria is one of Europe’s least-reached nations. Fewer than 2% of its 7 million people know Jesus personally — and among young people it’s under 1%. Most call themselves Christian by tradition, not by faith. Sofia is where the country’s youth are moving, and local pastors say God is stirring young Bulgarians to share the gospel. We’re going to stand with them.
What to expect
01Training & preparation. Worship, teaching, prayer, and hands-on outreach workshops.
02Daily outreach. Streets, campuses, youth hubs, and public spaces across Sofia.
03Team life. Fellowship, shared meals, debriefs, and testimonies.
04Spiritual formation. Space to meet God and be changed.
05Cross-cultural friendship. Serve and grow alongside Bulgarian believers.

Good to know
Everything you need before you book. After registration you’ll get an email with detailed info about the venue and accommodation.
LanguageEnglish and Bulgarian. Translation available in other languages where needed.
DocumentsValid passport or national ID, plus a visa if your nationality needs one for Bulgaria. Travel insurance is recommended.
How do I get there?
Book a flight to Sofia Airport (SOF) — try Google Flights or momondo.com for cheap tickets. We organise transport between the airport and the accommodation on arrival and departure days; it has an additional cost and can be booked during your application. If you arrive at any other airport, train or bus station, you organise that leg yourself.
When should I arrive and leave?
Arrive on Monday 10th of May before 16:00. You can depart on Friday 21st of May and must have left the site by 11:00 — afternoon or evening flights are recommended.
What does the training look like?
Teaching, workshops and preaching to equip you for the streets: how to preach the gospel, share your personal story with Jesus, and pray for the sick. We’ll also challenge you in your gifts and help you break every kind of fear of man. It will be a time you will never forget.
What does an outreach look like?
A typical outreach combines street events — a group performs dances, shares testimonies and preaches the gospel, both on a microphone and in one-on-one conversations. People who receive Jesus are connected to local church members.
Where will I go for outreach?
We serve local churches across Sofia and send different teams to different locations every day: city squares, streets, parks and campuses. You’ll get to share the gospel everywhere.
